“Porter’s Hollow” Book Cover in the Works
I’ve been working on a book cover for the up and coming paranormal fiction book “Porter’s Hollow.” It took a few sketches to nail it down, but I think it’s ready to take to the next phase (the painting phase). I’m shooting for a semi-creepy / foggy scene with a dark foreground that lightens as you move into the background. I don’t have a lot of purely atmospheric paintings, so I’m looking forward to attempting something a bit different in terms of subject matter.
I think the black will work well because it can be continued around the spine and back cover of the book, and will leave room at the base for the book title and author name. Sometimes my paintings don’t completely match my sketches and I end up adding things as I go along, but I think this final concept is pretty tight.
Below are the initial sketches in the order they were made. Come back soon to see the finished work!
